CUSTOMER BACKGROUND
In the midst of Covid 2020, Mrs P had been finding the stairs in her Solihull home increasingly difficult to manage due to reduced mobility. Although she was still independent around her home, climbing the stairs had become tiring and she was becoming increasingly concerned about her safety.
Mrs P lives in a traditional semi-detached property with a straight staircase leading from the hallway to the first floor.
PRODUCT INSTALLED: HomeGlide Standard
The HomeGlide was chosen because of its comfortable seat, smooth operation and ability to provide additional support for someone whose mobility may deteriorate over time.
The compact rail design also worked well within the available space.
INSTALLATION PROCESS
The installation was completed in approximately 2 hours.
The engineer carefully positioned the stairlift to maintain as much usable space as possible on the staircase. The seat and controls were adjusted to suit Mrs P’s height and preferred position. Covid safety precautions and social distancing were carried out throughout the install with a handsfree handover and documentation sent via email.
THE OUTCOME
Mrs P can now move safely between both floors without having to worry about the physical effort of climbing the stairs OR having external carers enter the property at an already vulnerable time.
