Customer: Adrian Location: Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands

Property: Detached family home
Staircase: Straight staircase

CUSTOMER BACKGROUND

In this Sutton Coldfield home, the staircase was becoming increasingly difficult for more than one member of the family.

Both residents wanted to continue living independently in their own home, but managing the stairs was becoming a daily concern.

The family contacted Chapter Stairlifts to discuss whether there was a solution that could work for both users.

THE CHALLENGE

The stairlift needed to be comfortable and straightforward for different users, with controls that were easy to understand.

It was also important that the family could continue using the staircase normally when the stairlift wasn’t in use.

During the assessment, we discussed how frequently the stairlift would be used and the individual requirements of each person.

PRODUCT INSTALLED: HomeGlide Extra 2

The HomeGlide Extra 2 was selected as it provided the functionality and flexibility required for the household.

Features included:

  • Comfortable seating
  • Easy-to-operate controls
  • Folding seat and footrest
  • Smooth operation
  • Suitable for regular daily use
  • A practical design for a shared household

INSTALLATION PROCESS

The installation was completed in approximately 2.5 hours.

Our engineer took time to explain the controls and operation to both users, making sure everyone felt comfortable using the stairlift independently.

The installation was then tested thoroughly before completion.

THE OUTCOME

The stairlift has made a significant difference to both residents.

Rather than one person having to rely on another family member to help with the stairs, they can now use the stairlift independently.

This has reduced the pressure on family members and provided both users with greater confidence.

The long-term benefit is equally important: the household can continue using their home comfortably without the staircase becoming a barrier.

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL

The stairlift has helped both users and reduced the need for family assistance.

CHAPTER STAIRLIFTS VIEW

Sometimes a stairlift isn’t just about helping one person. It can benefit an entire household by giving everyone greater independence and reducing the need for family members to provide physical assistance.
