CUSTOMER BACKGROUND
Alex had lived in their Stourbridge home for many years but had reached the point where climbing the stairs was becoming increasingly difficult.
The staircase was an important consideration. With a curve and a relatively tight turn, the customer needed a stairlift that could be tailored to the shape of the staircase while still providing a comfortable ride.
THE CHALLENGE
The curved staircase meant that a standard straight stairlift wasn’t suitable.
The customer also wanted to retain as much usable space on the staircase as possible. The stairlift therefore needed to provide a practical solution without making the staircase feel unnecessarily restricted.
During the home assessment, our team looked at the shape and dimensions of the staircase, the customer’s mobility requirements and how they would use the stairlift on a day-to-day basis.

The stairlift was selected because it could be configured to suit the individual staircase and provide the customer with the comfort and functionality they needed.

- Automatic swivel seat for easier access
- Easy-to-use controls
- Fold-away components when the stairlift is not being used
- Smooth travel around the curve

INSTALLATION PROCESS
The installation took approximately 3 hours.
The bespoke rail was carefully fitted to follow the curve of the staircase. The installation team made the necessary adjustments to ensure the stairlift travelled smoothly and safely through the tighter section.
Once installed, the stairlift was fully tested and the customer was given a demonstration of all the controls and features.
THE OUTCOME
The customer can now move between floors without the worry and physical effort that previously came with using the stairs.
The stairlift has provided:

- Increased confidence
- Less physical strain
- Greater reassurance for family members
For Alex, the stairlift has also helped remove one of the biggest barriers to continuing to enjoy their home.
